      <![CDATA[<p>Brazilian artist Regina Silveira utilizes the white cube of the Feldman Gallery + Project Space as the backdrop for her spatial experiments, which are composed of poetically profound, stark, black images applied directly to the gallery walls. With these stunningly graphic works, tire tracks encircling the space, a giant needle stitching the walls, Silveira is constantly calling into question our reliance on two-point perspective as means of understanding representation.</p>]]>

Le currently resides in Ho Chi Minh City. Most recently his work was included in: the Asia-Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art in Brisbane, Australia; the Gwangju Biennial in Gwangju City, Korea; in a highly acclaimed one-person exhibition at the Asia Society in New York; and in Red Hot: Asian Art Today from the Chaney Family Collection.</p>]]>

      <![CDATA[<p>Richard Rezac received his <span class="caps">BFA</span> from the Pacific Northwest College of Art (then the Museum Art School), Portland, and an <span class="caps">MFA</span> from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore. Following his graduation from the <span class="caps">PNCA</span>, Rezac was one of the founders of the alternative, artist-cooperative gallery, Blackfish Gallery, which continues today. Living and working in Chicago since 1984, Rezac is on the faculty of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work has been exhibited nationally, most recently in the 2006 Corcoran Biennial. He has been the recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Visual Artist Fellowships, John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award, Joan Mitchell Artist Award, and the 2006 Rome Prize in the Visual Arts.</p>]]>

      <![CDATA[<p><span class="caps">PNCA</span> faculty Matthew Letzelter gave students in his 3D Foundation class an assignment: create a container that would allow an egg dropped from 20 feet to survive impact. Students could only use toothpicks, paper, string and glue. The finished piece could not be larger then 3 square feet. The students built parachutes, rockets, boxes, nests and a paper cat to house their eggs during the experiment.</p>]]>

Idea Studios are a series of movable public conversations, lectures and performances exploring the creative life and the importance of creativity in fostering civic imagination and collaboration. The next <span class="caps">PNCA</span>+FIVE Idea Studio is Jacques Rancière, political theorist and philosopher, with a lecture on February 29 on “What Makes Images Unacceptable.” The lecture is at 6:30 pm in the Swigert Commons.</p>]]>
