Major Additions, SP07
- Every member of Homeroom now has their own customizable webpage, complete with the ability to create their own art portfolios to share with the PNCA community or live on PNCA.edu
- We’ve expanded Homeroom’s site creation tools to include Groups, Clubs and Committees.
- These group sites can be private, invite-only, if desired. They are limited to PNCA community members at this time.
- You can now make anyone in your site an “Editor” and build Homerooms where everyone has the same ability to post, upload and communicate.
- You can now Archive sites and create new ones based on the content of old sites, without having to re-upload all your files, links, and galleries.
- We’ve replaced the “category” system with a new, more powerful “tagging” system. Tags are very popular in applications like Flickr, and del.icio.us. And you can learn more about tags on Wikipedia
- There are more places to have conversations all over Homeroom. For instance, anyone in the PNCA community can now make comments on class galleries and individual portfolio items
- A new “Search” tab within each site makes finding older material easier. Just type in a term or tag and everything on the site comes into view.
A few small enhancements ’06
- You can now see who’s logged into Homeroom within the last 5 minutes from within each class.
- All gallery uploads now receive thumbnails.
- Avatars can now be much larger, 100 x 100 pixels
- You can now display the first page of PDFs in a gallery
- You can now edit all content within a site, including Journal entries, gallery items, files and links.
